A beautiful, healthy smile is about more than just straight teeth. Sometimes your dental arch needs a little assistance to grow and make room for all your teeth in your smile – that’s where Invisalign® IPE can help.

What is Invisalign® IPE?

Invisalign® IPE, or the Invisalign® Palatal Expander, is a custom device for gently widening your child’s upper dental arch. Unlike traditional expanders, it doesn’t use any metal parts, which makes it much more comfortable to wear.

Invisalign® IPE is removable, so your child can take their appliance out for eating, brushing, and flossing. This makes treatment more convenient and allows for better oral hygiene.

How does Invisalign® IPE work?

When your child visits Angle House Orthodontics for a consultation, we will use our 3D scanner to create a series of custom appliances designed to suit your child’s unique smile.

Each appliance is slightly wider than the next – by about 0.25 mm. This allows your child’s dental arch to slowly widen as they switch to new appliances over time. There is also no need to turn a screw, as with other traditional expanders!
